Default best thing to do to your engine for under 2k?

I'm thinking about getting an sc300/400, and was wondering what kind of engine mods i could do for maximum hp with a budget of 2k in an auto sc300, because those are my first choice over 400's. If there aren't very many ways to maximize hp for an sc300 w/ a budget, then i'll most likely go with the 400.

btw, i have searched, but everything was mainly about torque converters, ECU's and turbos(which i can't afford). would it be possible to reach around 325 rwhp under 2k? thanks

Two grand will get you a converter and install, and leave you enough room for a nitrous system, which you can install yourself if you're handy, maybe a discrete single fogger system. As for 325 rwhp for under $2K, are you serious? That will require a 175-200 shot of juice, the motor will handle a bit hit with proper fuel and spark management, but that's definitely pushing it, I would upgrade the in-tank pump and run a 125-150 shot. If your response is you don't want nitrous, you'll end up adding intake, exhaust, pulleys, AFC, plugs, whatever other boltons.....and only gettting a few horses, you'll be lucky to hit 200-210 rwhp if that. Save and wait for that turbo kit, otherwise you will not be happy.

2K can get you a DaveH kit, do a search on supraforums.com on DaveH

3K can get you a Bean kit, do a search here for poster Bean.

Bean kit, not really a kit, but a piece together solution to save alot of bucks. May not be the best solution for the impatient.

well to answer how, its the same engine. Dave designed his turbo kit for the non turbo supras, which have the same engine as us. also hood clearance and everything else has been checked and there are quite a few people on this board utilizing the Dave H kit. its a good bang for the buck kind of deal and hes also on this board quite frequently.

The best thing to do would be either nothing, or the Tc+ nitrous route(but you won`t get the 375 rwhp you want). If you try to turbo for less than probably 4000 your not going to be doing it safely.

lol cool a kit!

i got a link in my sig...

it is NOT for the impatient for sure... but you can save lots of cash... if you need any help drop me a line...
my advice is to run the DaveH turbo, manifold, and downpipe for starters and piece the rest together
it'll save a lot of time and its not that much more expensive

i had a dave h manifold set up to use a T4 flange instead of the 3bolt grand national since i can get a T4 turbo new for $450
got a 57 trim since they were out of the 60 and it was gonna be a month before they got anymore

anyway; all the trials and tribulations are in that thread; pm me with questions

Just amazing how little you guys can do it for, must be some kind of talent, I spent around nine grand just in parts to turbocharge mine...and haven't gotten a bill from JBE for labour yet
