Is there anyway to go distributorless for a na-t? Just trying to make my decision.

 

Im not an expert but I think if you go standalone (AEM, Haltech) you lose the distributor for coil packs.

 

There's no way you'll go *completely* distributor-less unless you use aftermarket crank/cam pick-ups on the GE block and head, respectively. You can change the ignition over to direct fire or wasted spark using the NA head, but you'll still need the distributor base for crank/cam position. The good news, is that the cap/rotor/coil are no longer required making room for any size turbo.

You can try the 7mgte set up i have seen it work you still have a distrubator just no wires you use coil packs.

I may not have the extensive mod lists that you guys have, but I read everything I can on here so that when I get out of school and I do get the money, I'll be ready to go. And being able to help out others in situations like these is always a plus too

you would run a 7mgte cam trigger sensor, the 2jzgte coil packs and ignitor. Im not sure on what FACTORY ecu would work maybe the 2jzgte? But if your doing this mod mind as well go with an after market efi system.-pdang
