Slapped the 17X8 GS wheels on my dad's SC4, it needs a drop but looks great compared to the 92 16" wheels. Went 245/45/17 all around from the 225/55/16

Tire Quality As Well
About the issue where people are bending rims. One of the biggest factors is tire quality. I've seen people putting cheapo tires on expensive wheels. What's the point? Save money, okay, but you're also risking damage. People should look into the tires features, not all are the same. I've have good luck w/ Yokohamas, some of the higher end tires come with wheel guards in the tires sidewall, which helps from bending. I've hit many potholes in my older car and surely I thought my rims were a goner. But those Yoks saved my wheels. I was driving alongside a friend where they had construction on a freeway and had dips dug out. I think they must have been two inches dug out and we hit those on freeway speeds not knowing they were there. My buddy ended up breaking both 18" Model 7s in front. He had Toyos. I think he cried. So decide wisely folks.

I currently have Lowenhart LS1's on my 1995 SC300. I am running a 18x10 in the rear and a 18x9 in the front. In my oppinion they look small on the car, and I am going to upgrade to a 19" this summer. Now I am stuck with another set of rims I don't like. Oh well ... that is the passionate pursuit of perfection I guess. :egads:

Any camber kits available for the SC's? |
u must maintain good tire pressure with low profile tires. rim gaurd.its a good thing:p

rim size
It's been 2 months now since I upgraded from 18 to 19's. At first I thought it was a waste of money. Now I'm happy with the set up. It was easier to toss the car around with 18's but steering response is better with 19's. The best thing is the look. That look is....well...it's the bomb.

Worst is when people upgrade rim size to 18 or 19 from 16 and then keep the stock brakes. Not only does it look bad but it is not as safe.

hey guys, do you know what the max lip size would be on our sc's?
i know the max offset is +38 for the rear and +41 on the front. But how do those soarers in Japan get such crazy offsets giving like 3.5-4" of lip or so. |
