Hey ya'll, does anyone know if the factory tweeters in the 93 SC are directly replaceable with something new, or do I need to make mods? The original tweeters are cracking pretty bad and it's time to replace but I don't know if I can just drop in some bullet or dome tweeters from Amazon. I haven't pulled the old ones to look at them yet but I certainly will if nobody knows the scoop. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I've been curious myself about this myself as I need to replace my main door speakers and have wanted to look into brand new tweeters that fit well... if such things exist for these cars.
I doubt there are any direct replacements that would mount up without modification. It's too unique of a mounting shape.
I've upgraded all the speakers in my car except for the tweeters. The stock ones are perfectly fine, as far as I'm concerned. They also last a long time. So, I would just look for another original set, if yours are shot. If you can find a SC at the junkyard, the tweeters are bound to be there and dirt cheap, as they're not a sought after item.
Well, I got an extra SC when I bought mine, for parts. The question is whether the tweeters are still working. Otherwise it looks like eBay has some options...
