Hi there

I just wanted to share a good youtube channel that I´m following. Two guys in Florida doing a 2UR-swap into an SC300.

Tavarish! Yeah I've been watching his channel for a while now. His main channel actually got a bit out there imo. He's working on lambos and mcclarens and such. Its cool but i like the every day car projects more. I've been waiting for him to do another SC since he had one a while back but sold it. Looking forward to seeing that v8 in the SC. If that works maybe more people will start swapping newer lexus V8s into these cars. I think the pinnacle of absurd would be to swap in the v10, trans and exhaust from the LFA into an SC and if anyone is gonna do it its him lol. Can you imagine that sound coming out of an SC. It would be glorious!

Good share, Lettut! Tavarish and Jared never disappoint! Jared is a very awesome and highly knowledgeable guy who's very well known in the MKIV Supra and R35 GTR world. He worked on my SC in the past when he was still with SpeedForSale. Between those two Youtube channels I don't see either of them slowing down!

Though as far as absurd goes I'm not sure which will ultimately be harder: their 2UR V8 swap or the 1GZ-FE V12 swap that's ongoing in the builds section. Both are unconventional and will have unique results!

Though I agree regarding the LFA engine. One of those would be an absolute fortune to obtain let alone swap into anything!

Man, I need to watch his videos on this. I'd ditch my GTE car in a heartbeat for a 2UR swapped SC.

We'll see how it goes. He has like 18 projects so progress is usually slow per car but he cranks out videos very often regarding a bunch of different cars across 2 channels.

Saw that video. Will be curious to see how it works out. A 5.0L 32-valve V8 in an SC. Cool!

Jared can make it happen.

I'm going to start paying attention to Tavarish again. 2UR would be an interesting swap. If my truck ever gets totaled may consider a 3ur swap, lol..

That is pretty neat, I commend them for trying to do the swap with all the electronics working by keeping the auto transmission.
I would rather have a 2UR with a manual behind it and the dash lit up, but a very cool swap either way.

New video today of them removing the engine. Looking forward to the first SC-F car out there.

They posted a teaser pic of Instagram a few days ago. They mocked up the 2UR in the SC engine bay

It actually fits! Very cool! That will be one mean and crazy SC when they're done with it.

Actually the most fascinating hook for me with their project will be how they plan to tackle the IS-F's CANBUS wiring and ECU talking to the SC's old fashioned individual body ECUs and voltage-based functions.

I don't think anyone to date has attempted to get any newer swap engine's CANBUS electronics to work with the SC chassis. "Translation boxes" as Jared mentions in the video will definitely be needed. Hopefully they go into their solutions somewhat in-depth because their example and final approaches that work can lay the foundation for many other future engine swap ideas on the SC/Soarer platform.

Last time I looked into where ECU/trans management for the ISF was, nobody had cracked the ECU code and even standalones were not functioning correctly. Lots of issues 5-10 years ago. Anything changed? I can't remember what it was but I think there was some specific issue with the injectors maybe? I dunno.

I just caught the next video today, where Tavarish placed the UR engine on the mounts for the SC300. Interesting to see how things do (or don't) fit. At the end, he did mention all the work that will be needed AFTER they get the engine and transmission installed.
