Hey, nothing new from whatever the mechanic did last week. Ok so the PCM was replaced in June of 2020 and then started having problems again in December of 2020. The same mechanics checked it over supposedly and said because of this, it must not be the PCM. It might still be that issue but they were kicking the can around and said it must be something else. The new mechanic plaelllyed around with the IACV, replaced it, it worked for a day, then the car stalled. He put the old one back in and did something to it where the idling is dialed into a certain rpm. That's the extent of what I know. It's a workaround for sure and doesn't solve the overall issue which may still be electrical somewhere. He thinks the PCM may still be the issue but admitted the original mechanics are going to **** and moan about doing anything because they already replaced it (it seems they were in fact passing and moaning when I suggested it). So the car is idling and not stalling for the moment.

 

Well atl east it's working, but I think you need to get a clear answer on where they got the ECU because even used they can go bad. I guess it doesn't matter where they got it, but just saying it could also need repairs.

 

Yea exactly. It was 850 bucks to replace it in June. So it's possible they put in a used one which is why it might still be the issue?
