i use regular gas on my sc300 which i think is 89. the car says premium unleaded only. is it ok to use such low gas? i jus realized my acceleration is lackin a bit these days and now i get 93 super gas once a week. i would get good gas everytime but NY gas right now is 210 super and 195 regular! OUCHHH

 

there is a thread that is multiple pages long on this just a few pages back. do a search for it and you'll see what it is.

 

just bit the bullet and put in premuim ,or get a civic.... using a low grade octane in a car designed for premium can cause detonation, bad thing. saving a few pennies now won't make up for that later on down the road.

Oh boo hoo... right now premium (91) is $2.37 - $2.45/gal in CA, and that's not even peak! Nevertheless, I can never bring myself to pick up that red pump at Chevron...

I have never put anything besides Super Unleaded. I decided to use the cheap Arco gas for a few weeks and noticed extreme lack of power and ****ty gas mileage... My buddy has a BMW M3 and he tried 89 oc. and his car stalled everytime he would stop... Same with arco... His car stalled... Stick with the good stuff... NY gas prices may be bad for Super Unleaded, but Californias are worse... $2.39 a gallon...

the cars says to use premium unleaded only, but what octane is that, back home in dallas it is 93-95, but out here in lubbock the highest octane i have found is 90

 

We used to religiously avoid Arco gas found at AM/PM's all over SoCal unless we were running on "E" with the gas pump light illuminated.
