Default Steering Column Question !

Hey Guys havent been on in a few but im back with another minor problem, I think my steering column motor broke, ive always had it on auto, When i turned my car on a few days ago, it made the sound that it would normally make when it moves into position except it was 10X louder and didnt move anywhere. So its all the way up, it moves towards me and away from me. When i pushed the down button it makes that same loud sound for 2 seconds but doesnt move whats up anyone of you experienced this problem??
Oh and by the way its such a ***** to drive it with the steering column all the way up, and i cant even take out my cluster to put in my fancy needles. please help

daizen, this car is fighting you all the way man. i am unsure if you can get to the gearing, but you should be able to by removing the bottom of the steering colum cover behind the steering wheel on the colum. Watch out for bright yellow airbag wires, and see if you can adjust the gearing manually to bring it down to a more comfortable level.
