Default adding turbo?

would anyone recommend me adding on a turbo such as an F-Max to my 93' SC300 with 135k. I'm a little hesitant about forking out 3g's when there's a chance I could tear my motor up. Although the block is in very good shape. I already have an Intake and Greddy Catback Exhaust, and I'm wanting a little more power. Any suggestions?

if you make certain the motor is in pristine condition, then you should be worry free if the turbo kit is installed correctly, and tuned correctly.

here are some details

Remember, the 1uz and 2jz series motors are very strong stock. if you are interested in running crazy boost though, you will need to replace several portions of the drivetrain/fuel mgmt - [injectors, fuel pump, valve body/clutch, etc] to name a few. Just do a search, this is discussed many times

A few people turboed their cars at 130,000 miles. the 2JZ-GE engiens just don't make enough power to wear so much. As long as you did all the tune-ups and changed oil regularly then it should be okay.

I doulbt it would cost you 3,000 bucks. Last time I check most turbo kits are between 4,000 and 6,000 dollars. Use the search button for more information.

I highly doubt 1UZ could take equal threatment as 2JZ. I think it was discussed before and 1UZ block would need building.

If your going to turbo a higher milage GE motor i would figure in enough money for a complete overhaul and valve job. All that would run you an atleast an additional $1000 or so on top of the turbo kit, doing it all yourself. I opted to swap out the GE motor for the GTE which is only about $3k more when you add it all up. If i would have had a younger GE, like maybe an IS300, i would have just done a custom turbo kit and stock TT headgasket.
