So I replaced my old door lock actuator because the rod broke. But now the new one I just installed, the rod with the yellow clip keeps popping off when I open the door??? Anyone know what’s going on?

When you say "Rod" do you mean the smaller diameter rod that controls the lock/unlock or the larger diameter rod that opens the latch from the outside handle?
Also when you say "pop off" is the plastic retaining clip coming off the metal rod and staying on the mating connector or is the plastic clip staying on the metal rod and coming out of the mating connector?
Your edit answered which rod it is. Did you re-use the yellow plastic clip? Those can get worn down and slip out. New ones are relatively cheap. https://www.ebay.com/itm/400946138837

yes I reused it, it’s still in good shape. Once I pull the door handle to a certain point it pops off.
Did you put the yellow connector on the rod first then push it into the outside door handle? If you fit it in that way it will slip out that way and is worn.
You must insert the clip into the hole on the outside handle first, then insert the rod into the hole, then rotate the yellow clip to lock it onto the rod.
If the connector is falling out with the rod in it then it is slightly worn down or the edges are rounded and should be replaced.
