99' SC300 Not Accepting Aftermarket Key
Hello,
I've got a 1999 Lexus SC300 that has been 1JZ swapped. It's got a JZX110 Non-immobilizer ECU.
I recently got an aftermarket key for the SC300 (Was using a bit of metal bolted to a quarter before!), but the fob does not work to lock/unlock the doors.
I've gone through the steps to program the key (Something like opening the door and pressing lock/unlock 5 times), and the car will go into programming mode. But, once I get to the part where I press the button on the fob, the doors cycle twice which means that the key was not accepted. Does anybody know why that might be the case?
Thanks for any help!

Does your Fob have fresh batteries? I had the same issue, and replaced the batteries and hit the buttons while bringing the fob closer to the ignition key switch. Worked for me after that.

I'm assuming the FCC ID is correct, as it's communicating with the car?
How would I know if 4 keys were already programmed? How would I clear them?
Thanks!

There is a lot of info about programming the keys in that thread.
