Default Lexus Key Broke Help!

Will a broken key fob prevent the car from starting? I have a 95 Lexus SC300. If i put just the key in the ignition by itself without the black key fob will it start or just sit there and crank and not turn over? Thanks. They key fob doesn't remotely unlock and lock the doors, its just a black cover with a little circuit board in it.

I think you've got one of the older valet keys, not the master key so it wont make any difference. Just insert and drive. The master key has a lock/unlock button built into it. Regardless which key or year, we dont have the chip that requires proximity to start the car, you can have a cheapo key cut and work the same.

I know this is out of the question but Ill ask anyway.

What does the button on the keyfob on the side of the key do?? Does it open the car, turn the alarm on or what? Oh amd my key is broken too and it starts my car too and its a normal problem with these keys.

Default Eternity Key is a great solution to a broken key fob

GREAT NEWS! If you need to replace a broken key fob and the transponder is intact, ask your local Lexus Dealer about the Eternity Key. It is stronger than anything else on the market and offers a lifetime warranty - so you will never have to pay for another key - or worry about easy breakage again. Find more details at www.eternitykey.com - and contact us if you need any assistance!

Eternity key does not apply for the 1995 model Lexus.

The button on the side of the key is your alarm on/off button. There's a replaceable battery inside and OLT had done a write-up regarding some circuit repair on it.
