Default 80% Throttle

Is it normal for full throttle to only register 80% throttle on Techstream? I am wondering because it seems I can only get 80% with the pedal on the floor. I have checked and the throttle body butterfly seems to be opening fully at full throttle but can't help but wonder if I am only getting a little more than 3/4 of what this car will achieve. Does anyone know if this is normal?

Thanks

Hey! Work has been insane so haven't had much time to do much else. I have reset the ECU but it didn't seem to change anything. Is there another procedure? I was just wondering if this was normal? I recently had an input turbine speed sensor go out which I replaced with no issues. But when I was troubleshooting that was when I discovered the 80% throttle thing. I can't find anything in the book that says if that is normal or not.

Well I could certainly connect techstream and see what I read.

so just push it to the floor and observe techstream, is that correct?

also, do you have service manuals?

Yeah, I forget exactly what screen it is on but switch on engine off and push the pedal to the floor. I get 80% throttle. There is also an active graph. I do have manuals.

i didn't get a chance to check my car for you but will be back home on Monday, will try then.
for now and if you have time, you could check the manuals for the remove and replace procedure for the throttle body. It might have an alignment procedure and what you should be seeing on the TechStream screen.

I went to the Engine and ECT live and selected data list.

it displayed 13% at idle or no pressure on peddle and
80% at wide open throttle (WOT).

see pics.
guess this is normal.

Yep, I would say it's normal then! Thanks Bgw! Now the real burning question, I wonder why Lexus designed it like that? ;-)

which setting are you referring too?
throttle body control? If so, I didn't see a control but it might be there.

.....sorry about not being clear, but yes I was referring to the throttle body control. I don't have TechStream personally, but from reading your & other's post, I know that you can change some settings......just curious if it may be possible to change that setting to a higher % ???
