I recently did a boost leak test and found my IACV leaking. I removed the IACV and pressure tested it independently and found that it is leaking from the check valve inside of the IACV. The check valve and grommet are brand new with no damage. It is leaking a very little amount but leaking none the less. Its leaking from the orange flapper piece, not from the rubber but from the metal surface where it sits on the lip. So its metal on metal contact and air seems to be slipping by. Is this normal? Is it because the IACV is not on and the valve is open? or should that check valve stop it all together by itself?
I can buy a little o-ring to solve the boost leak but I have not seen anyone else have this issue or anyone using an o-ring under the check valve.
Here is a pic of the parts I'm referring to. So when the orange check valve sits in the flange on the lip with the orange wheel facing me it will leak boost around the outside diameter of the check valve where it is a metal to metal contact between the flange lip and the check valve.
Haha I'm pretty sure I have it the right way. The orange wheel is facing me/ facing away from inlet to motor/ facing upward when putting iacv on top and I have the grommet with the concave side facing downward toward the check valve. Is this correct?
Its not a significant leak so I'm pretty sure its on the correct way. But I just wasn't sure if it supposed to create air tight seal or not since its metal on metal.
