I left my SC in my fathers driveway last night and forgot to lock the car. It's a nice gated community here in Vegas so I guess my guard was down. Normally I'm overly protective of my stuff but I slipped one time and some little punks tried to pry out my Kenwood double din. It was pretty sweet. Has the big LCD with moving graphics. Anyway, I came out to the car about midnight and they couldn't pull out the deck so they tired prying it out and broke the face off. They also grabbed my Olympus digital camera. The HU is only 3 months old. I went home and put the face back on and reattached the power ribbon. The buttons light up and it will play cd's and the radio but the LCD screen is shot. I'm going to send it to Kenwood and see if they can get it working again. I'll just put it in my Eclipse if it gets working. I'm so pissed it's unreal.

It would have been worth it to let them break into the car just to get my hands on them. Thanks for letting my vent a little. Feel free to move this post if you don't think it should go into the SC forum

BTW.....On a positive note, I'm getting my Pioneer DVD HU installed tomorrow. Got a road trip to AZ this weekend and need something working properly for entertainment.

 

dude... that sux..... i hope they can repair the HU. Bait those suckas next time.... leave your car open with the new headunit and wait around with a chromed stickball bat.....

 

LOL. I actually thought about something along those lines. Vigilante time. After 8 years of Judo there is no more satisfying thing than taking them down with your bare hands though.

sorry to hear about the mishap....glad they didn't get any more than they did, like the whole car. obviously these were not "professional" thieves.

 

 

Which part of Vegas is it? Gated community and this happen? I better watch out more with my car since I just moved here a little more than two months.

 

It happened in the Rhodes Ranch subdivision of Lakes/Links. The main gate has guards and the subdivision has another gate so I'm pretty sure it was some kids that live in the subdivision.

 

sorry about the luck, the kids in my neighberhood are also little bastards, came out the other day and the car was covered in eggs!! still some marks on the car from them.

 

dude i can hook you up with this guy... he does chrome work and he chromed my stickball bat real nice... not too heavy but deadly. looks nice too.

 

I was pretty upset about the whole thing until I got my in dash DVD hooked up today. This thing is the coolest toy. The shop did a pretty good job on the install. I'm getting the rest done next week. All Pheonix gold amps, speakers and subwoofer. SW is going to be in the stock location with a fiber glass blox built around it. Once I get a digital camera I'll post some pics.

I am sorry to hear about your incident... I would kill anyone who touches my car... I am always doughting myself when it comes to my car, I am always wondering if I locked my doors and such, I prob go out to my car like 10 times a night to check on it while I am at work, and when I am at home I am prob going to the front window the same amount of times…. LOL I am as bad as the smokers here at work, they get out to smoke like once an hr, I am going out every hr to check on my car I can't wait until I get my 2way alarm, but I think I will still go out and check on my baby every so often.. Gratz on your DVD toy... Are you going to worry about your Kenwood unit or just let it go ??
