Drivers side door not locking or unlocking...Whats wrong with it?

Yeah mine has had the EXACT same problem for about 6 months now, seemed like it would come and go with no reason. Yesterday while replacing my window guides I decided to check out the problem expecting it to be operated by a solenoid. I removing the unit at the back of the door which controls the lock and closure ( not sure what to call it ) and then disassembled it. There is a motor inside this unit which drives a worm gear to lock and unlock. This motor seemed very week so I decided to investigate further. Upon disassembly of the motor I discovered that the brushes were VERY worn and the motor was filthy. I then re-surfaced the brushes, cleaned / sanded the armature and reassembled it. This did the trick. My drivers side lock now operates faster than the passengers side!! I’ll worn you this was a quiet complicated process and took about 2 hours to complete. I don not believe the motor is sold separate, only as a unit which I’m sure is quiet high. Contact me if you have any ?? on the process contact me and I’ll do my best to walk you through it.
