Default Will I ever find a 1997 SC300 5spd?

I currently own a '99 Solara V6 stick, but I have been looking around for a '97 SC300 stick. I know this model exists, but from what I've seen so far, it's going to be pretty difficult to find one. I also wouldn't mind getting a '97-01 SC400, but these seem to be equally as rare. From what I've read, not too many 97-01 SC400's were sold because of the cost (Yen to US conversion). Anyone have any suggestions?

Btw, I want the '97 SC300 because the manual trans was discontinued in '98, and the '97 is the only SC300 with a manual and the updated body style.

Thanks!

You really should take a 92-96 SC400 for a test drive. You will be pleasantly surprised with the power and the tone of the V8. It just might make you forget about pursuing the 300. Also, if you get a 92-96 with low miles, and update the front bumber and tail lights to the 2000 style- you'll have basically what you're looking for, and you'll have cash to go buy a new plasma TV, and go on a vacation to Hawaii, or something.

as we have said a million times, unless your thinking of turbo changing your sc300 you might be happier with a sc400. it just that much better...

Thanks for the replies guys/girls?. The reason I wanted an SC300 was because of the available stickshift, which would make it comperable in speed to the SC400. I'm definitely open to buying a '97+ SC400 though. I just can't seem to find any private party; they seem to be pretty rare. I don't want to buy from a used car dealer, given that many used car dealers are pretty shady (not new car dealers that sell used, but used-only dealers). Anyway, it looks like I'll just have to wait it out, and wait for one to pop up.
