Default 2012 corolla navigation in sc300

using E7019 for this project because it has an integrated amp and the gps dvd is in the head unit. i made a patch harness using "Best Kits Toyota 1990-2002 15 Pin Aftermarket Stereo Harness" and metra 71-1761. You will lose the sub woofer if anyone knows how to get it back let me know. the toyota harness has individual grounds to each speaker but the lexus uses a common ground. bypass the amp under the cd player. i didnt notice how much bigger the e7019 is than the stock head unit. the center console does not fit over the new unit. if anyone has any ideas let me know.

wow! very cool. love your thinking, and love how you got it to work!

i think your best option will be to trim the center console trim with a dremel and then sand it down. looks pretty straightforward tbh you can use SEM color coat "monterey" #15723 to get an oem match (so i hear) to the OEM brown.

That's awesome that you got this to work. Good luck with modifying the bezel.

If you have the rear sub with the amp on the rear deck (pioneer system, not the nakamichi) the rear sub can be made to work off the input of the rear channel and it will hit harder due to being a higher line level signal (sub line from original headunit is actually a line level signal just at a lower volume).
I had an aftermarket 10" sub in stock location running off the stock amp (on the rear deck by the rear passenger speaker) that was getting input from the rear passenger side speaker (spliced at rear passenger speaker) for years, this was with an aftermarket headunit.
The stock amp is pretty beefy and can handle the extra load, also it has low pass filters so it only plays bass.
Good luck, the nav looks great. would be perfect if it wasn't a hair too big.

Check this out:

You can order the bezel and just trim it as much as necessary to make it accommodate the large NAV screen.

Thanks ali thats exactly what i needed. After lots of searching the internet for random nav units i found the eclipse avn 50d. and realized that eclipse makes the nav units for toyota. the avn 50d will plug into the harness ive already made and is of standard width so i suppose i will just switch to that. the eclipse unit doesnt have a **** on it, so now there is no trimming and my car wont have too many *****. ive also learned that many toyota steering wheels that have controls are plug and play with these units. you can see the buttons are in the same location and have the same style. i dont have a height measurement. maybe you can take it into ms paint and "cut" the ruler and rotate it or something. the wider toyota unit is so wide it wont allow for mounting of the stock ***** on the bezel

anyone looking at this, i have learned more in time. i learned that any new style(compared to a 92 SC300) toyota radio. must have individual grounds going to each speaker, you cannot connect the individual grounds to the lexus common ground system. so you must run new wires. i suggest running one 9 wire speedwire from the radio to the speaker plug at the trunk amp. here is some info.
