Question TRACTION CONTROL: totally disable?

On a NEW-2-ME 70K mile '92 SC400, with the traction control switch on the transmission tunnel turned "OFF", I am still getting "noises" at startup from the unit on top of the engine, which go off in about 45 seconds.. The warning dash light may come on intermittently, but the system does not seem to affect normal driving in any way...?

Is there a fuse to pull (or a plug or a wire to cut and tape) that will totally disconnect this system, safely?

Thanks in advance for your kind consideration! Anyone with a problem with a W126 Mercedes or a Subaru SVX please feel free to rattle my cage!

P.S. Never a problem with the system in the '93 (114K) which doesn't have the tunnel-mounted "OFF" switch to begin with. Not sure it has ever even come on in 5 years and 25K miles...? Well, but neither have the anti-lock brakes ever been activated in that time to my knowledge.
