Depends what's done and asking price isn't always what people pay. But don't want to sidetrack this thread to the Supra market.

Was that an MKIV Turbo Automatic or a non-turbo automatic? I would not expect MKIV prices no matter the trim level to go down at this point. They only made some 12,000 or so for the USA market and they were low volume cars in every market in which they were sold. As far as their affecting USDM Supra MKIV values... I'm not sure the availability of RHD versions will affect that so much.

Now the Z30 Soarers that are gradually becoming available I think will hold their value at this point.

I dont think I'd want a RHD for street use and would probably take me weeks to get used to. IMO, it is hard to tell what the USDM prices are going to to look like and I could foresee minimal prices drops on original unmolested and meticulously maintained USDM ones-rebuilt ECU capacitors, bushings, control arms, gaskets etc. 2018 and the years moving forward, as you know, may be a buyers market as more jdm supras, soarers, r33's, turbo'd silvias, rx7's, GTO's and NSX's will be available in the US. With all the possible choices, this should drive competition and lower prices on theses imports once the 2018 craze passes and the prices settle. With this scenario, I agree, it is hard to tell what impact the lower priced JDM supras will have on the USDM ones, but Im sure the lower prices will sway buyers.

I think I'd like to make a trip out of it in the next 5-10 years... I've got enough cash stashed for a nice Japan vacation later this year, but not enough to bring a car home. If I enjoy myself, I'd like to stash enough to go out, look for myself, and ship a beauty like this home.

A guy can dream, right?

Looks like a topic that I should chime into.

I happen to own and daily a 1991 Toyota Soarer. JZZ30. GT-TL.
Model: E-JZZ30-ACPZZ
EngineL 1JZ-GTE
Frame No: JZZ30-0013392
Color: 051
Trim: FB05
Trans: A340E
Axle: A02A
Plant Code: A22

It came from factory with Front and Rear Air Purifier, Automatic Headlights, TEMS Active Suspention, a Parking Pole, 6 Speaker Sound System, Completely Digital Dash, Rear Windshield Wiper, Rear Trunk Spoiler, ABS, Traction Control, Power Seats, and factory switches on the dash below the steering wheel to activate the Air Purifier and Parking Pole.

To touch on the purifier system, it is active, and operated by a dial. Think of a tuner dial on a radio. It is able to be turned from Off, to Low, to High fan speeds. It functions by drawing air through one vent on the rear parcel shelf, passing the air through a removable filter, then pushing it back into the passenger cabin with a fan. Not a terribly complicated system, but it works well. A major hassle has been locating a replacement filter, but thats the price you pay I suppose.

Currently the car has been left mostly unmodified, with only the Turbo Pressure being pushed to the limits at 14PSI, and a Catch Can being installed to abate the dreaded 1JZ Turbocharger Delamination caused by excessive blowby from the PCV Valve.

If you have any questions about them, feel free to fire away. Also if you happen to live in or around the northern part of Washington State, I attend the majority of car meets in the area. Feel free to track me down and take a look at it yourself.

Here is the switch combo I spoke of.

This is the rear speaker/air box combo

You can see the system installed above the gas tank here.
