My 2012 RX350 will not start and displays the "Active Steering Lock" message. What causes this?

 

Cant say much about the new push start system. Previously with the ignition key in the steering shaft, there was a steering lock cog. If the children tugged on the wheel after the key was removed the cog would prevent the key from moving. The solution was to wiggle the steering wheel to remove tension on the cog. Just give that a try and see if the error message goes away and the vehicle starts.
