Hey guys I have a question I have a 94 sc400 And I dropped a 350z transmission on it it's a 6spd. I'm trying to make the car faster I turn on feeder supercharger would get an ls one swap right now i'm a little tight on money so I need something a little bit affordable as well what do you guys think I should do? And if I were to put an LS1 in it would rhe transmission hold it?

You might do best to post this in the ClubLexus SC300/400 Performance and Maintenance sub-forum.

In short, you have a good manual transmission swap to start with. For more power a 1UZ-FE is not going to be the best bang for your buck. Some people in the US and mostly Australia and New Zealand have run Eaton roots superchargers on the SC400 V8 engine but the power gain per dollar invested is nowhere near what it is with a 2JZ-GE NA-T, 2JZ-GTE or 1JZ-GTE or the rare LSx V8 swap. 1UZ-FE V8's are great V8 engines in lighter cars but they are not great high horsepower engines since they don't produce impressive horsepower numbers with forced induction tunes unless a lot of money is invested in nearly all custom parts and work. The 1998-2000 1UZ-FE VT-i V8's produce more horsepower and torque stock but have significantly weaker rods, pistons and rings than the earlier versions.

If you were to run an LS1 or any other LS I would think a T56 6-speed or T56 Magnum 6-speed would be better choices since the R&D is already there to bolt them up to LS engines.

The most bang for your buck in the 1992-2000 SC chassis would be a JZ engine swap. Since you'd be changing the engine out entirely I'd recommend a 2JZ-GTE (VVT-i or Non-VVT-i) or a 1JZ-GTE VVT-i

Your CD009 350Z 6-speed will work with any JZ engine and hold plenty of power.

Don't forget upgrading to 1995-00 LS400 front brake calipers for safety (even as your car is with its current setup) and eventually an LSD for better stability and control under power. And good performance tires with good rain traction.

awesome reply, I was curious about 1UZ power gains and you've answered my questions before I asked. Is there any real advantage to porting the 1UZ intake/heads? I did my starter and thought a little port work wouldn't be too tough for the intake. I was considering doing the porting on my spare engine. Sounds like a wasted effort based on your reply.
