Has anyone recorded their exhaust setup with center resonator and two aft ones removed with replacement mufflers? If so e-mail me the sounds at Lexboggy@aol.com, thanks!
I have my two rear resonators removed with borla mufflers... (I have a center cat- I believe that when my father originaly ordered this car (a black on black SC400 in 1996 was hard to come by in TX), they must have shipped it from cali to houston- since I think the only sc's with three cats are the ones in cali)
I will post a sound clip later today.

actually all the obd-ii cars (96+) have a center cat instead of a center resonator. as far as if the california ones had it before the rest of the USA (pre 96 models), i dont know.
The center unit is a catalytic converter on all SCs from 92-00. You cannot simply remove it in any state that enforces their smog laws. The fine in California is thousands and thousands of dollars if you get caught. Like legendary said, check the FAQ
I'm going to take my chances and assume that the SC's are the same as the LS's and say that for non-California cars the center unit is a resonator not a cat.
My 1990 LS was an East coast (Connecticut) car and had a center resonator instead of a cat.
This may have changed in 1992 for the SC model I guess. So I could be wrong.
yea, im pretty sure in all sc's outside of california from 92-95 it was a center resonator, then for 96+ they changed it to a cat. california probably had the cat from 92-00.

This is correct. Non california SC's have a center resonator up untill 96. I have worked on several SC in Florida, and they all fit the bill.
Its obvious if you look at it too, the cat will have a heat shield stamped onto it (like every other cat), while the resonator is smooth and oval, and looks like a muffler.
