Times they is a changing, as Bob Dylan would say. They are all the stuff dreams are made of. Some we build, some we just wish for. The millionaire I work for is going to have to quit being so dang cheap, so I can either finish my.old one quicker or be able to buy the new ones. Either way I've wrapped myself in a Lexus sports car. LOL!

The LC is definitely the closest we will see as a successor to what the SC was as a long-nose GT performance car but it will be going very upmarket and while it seems like it will be somewhat performance oriented it will be competing with the BMW 6-Series and six figure Benz AMG coupes. It shares its chassis platform with the new LS sedan this time around although the LS's version is a lot longer than the LC version. Also no manual from the sound of the news. But so far it looks like it will be quite a machine in it's own right. But at $100k++
The MKV Supra is being built on a shared platform with the upcoming BMW Z5 roadster. RWD only as it should be. It isn't supposed to chase the Nissan GTR's AWD performance figures. It's supposed to be a high performance RWD driver's car again. Interestingly, Steyr-Magna (formerly Styer-Puch in the 80's) will be building both cars on their assembly line. This is also where vehicles like every single Mercedes G-Wagen (G-Class) is still built today. Pretty cool.

Despite BMW having the N55 (good for tuning) and B58 (not good for tuning) inline six turbo engines the rumor of Toyota using their own in-house V6 twin turbo engine seems to be what the Supra will get. 400+ horsepower is what I last read but with no specific figure yet. That engine is destined for a Lexus RWD vehicle or two as far as I can tell. Rumor is they are going to have a hybrid version of the Supra but more with a performance oriented F1 KERS system. If that doesn't turn out to be the case, blame it on how tight-lipped Toyota has been about confirming any of this

This one *could* be a hint of what's to come since the new LS sedan will now have this V6TT engine instead of a V8 but Toyota might also have another variant or an entirely different engine in mind for the Supra:

I would expect a DCT auto-manual transmission but also a 6-speed manual. Man if they don't sell that car with a good manual transmission... but I think they will since the buyer who would want a Supra will also be interested in manuals. That is true for the GT86/FR-S/BRZ.
I do wish Lexus would have revived the SC nameplate as the luxury muscle car it really is but that doesn't seem to be what they want :/ Our cars are still quite unique in Lexus' history, vehicle type on offer and style.
The LC does look beautiful and does appear to be the spiritual successor to our vehicles though. To the SC400's specifically. Minus the iconic front and rear bumper design and separated high beam headlights. But Lexus has really taken it quite upmarket.
