Default 2000 lexus sc 300

I have just purchased a one owner meticulously maintained 2000 Lexus SC 300 for $4,500. Upon getting the car, I bought without really seeing it, it was a friend of my dad's neighbor in San Diego. So my dad flew out there to pick it up and it has alot of door dings and some scratches here and there. 3 dents / paint chips over the rear passenger side rear fender but nothing MAJOR !!! The dents are small, you have to look close to see them but there are about 15 to 20 of them total on both rear fenders.only 3 are chipped paint the rest are just dents. Also has a long gouge in the left drivers side front fender / spoiler but it's close to the ground so you do not really see it. And alot of rear bumper rash on the one side, pretty big marks that are in the paint. Overall she looks great at 10 feet away but as you get closer you can see her imperfections. I'm now thinking of selling it as I do not have the fund's to make the car perfect, however it has been serviced regularly at a Lexus dealer and the motor look's like new, it has 112,000 on her. Interior is pretty nice, a few signs of wear on the drivers side seat and the cup holder to right of the radio is somehow missing but other then that she's a clean well taken care of vehicle. What should I do ? Any thought's. It drives like a dream.

If it is in nice shape, just drive and enjoy it. Save up and fix the body work when you can.

Sounds like a car flipping purchase/proposal post IMO.

Money can come and go, but valuable lessons are never bad investments and they last forever. I always learn a thing or two after dropping some cash. Hope you did as well.

A 2000 SC is a beautiful thing, and they are rare. Paint/cosmetics are very fixable. The car is mechanically perfect so enjoy it until you can get the body work done and you'll have a great rare gem that will last a very long time.

I passed up a 2000 SC400 a few years back, and I've had some regrets about it over the years.

The timing belt, drive belt and rear brakes were just done at the 105 K tune up. And the tires are practically new ( Michelin pilot's.), I'm thinking about keeping her now. Thank's for the advice guy's.

Before I purchased my 1992 Lexus in 2001 I researched the SC400 for months. Test drove a couple locally and zeroed in on all the options and Color. I found it on autotrader and flew to the Midwest and drove it home-sight unseen. 16 yrs later it is still here.
Now that you are on this great website, use the search button. Be positive about your car. Get a Buffer and work on the Paint. $4500 for a $43,805 car sounds like a steal. I bet your Father enjoyed driving it. If you are going to drive it in the Salt Belt get the chassis undercoated.
How about a photo?

I will have to take some pic's of her to post. And yes my father said it drives perfectly. His exact word's were it's a unique driving experience !!! In a good way. I drove it around town and I liked it as well. I'm going to keep it. I have alway's wanted an SC ( older body style ) and now I have one.

I just purchased a 99 SC400 myself. The exterior is in pretty good shape aside from the clearcoat peeling on the corner of the front bumper but the inside needs new seats, armrest, steering wheel and driverside door armrest. Mechanically its in perfect shape however. I'd recommend the same as others do. Drive it and enjoy it until you have the money to fix the body. Thats my plan for the interior of mine. SC's in general are becoming rare, (400 especially in my case)
