Default Question on California emissions SC400 car

Looking at a 1992 SC400 that is a California car. What are the differences between them and a 49 state federal car? From what I've found from searching is a 3 catalytic converter system but what else? I don't want to get a car that always needs special stuff for maintenance and repairs.

I live in a state that does not have emissions testing so that is not a worry. I don't want a check engine light on all the time because it has the wrong equipment on it.

Thanks for any help.
