Hey guys. Just wondering which kits everyone is running... I've seen several like the Greedy, Godspeed, Suprastore kit, etc.

So far the kit that has caught my eye has been the suprastore kit with the 25 row oil cooler.

As for installation it could be done with the engine in place? Also, do you guys recommend the heavy duty pink Teflon for the fittings over the white due to it being safe with oils and gasoline? I'm aware to keep the Teflon to a minimum since these kits have aluminum threads.

This would be going on a 1991 Soarer.

Any input is appreciated.

 

Any particular reason you're going for this vs say something off ebay like a universal one. You can save a lot, this one seems pricey for something that would just cool oil.

It is overpriced and frankly a 20 degree temperature drop is average and not very impressive. They provide no real performance numbers/chart/graph to understand better when the additional cooling is occurring which is not a vote in their favor. The kit can be put together on your own for much less, in my opinion.

as has been said above - its overpriced and when you look at the parts you're getting: those are universal china parts anyways. they are not bad, mind you, but you can buy them waaaaay cheaper (rough guess $150) on ebay or elsewhere.

 

I recommend the SupraStore one based on the fact it is the only one with an optional thermostat

 

I have an HKS kit I'm about to put on my car

 

The main reason was because I live in South Florida and it is very hot down here.
