hello,
i have a 96 lexus sc300 and about a month ago i lost reverse and neutral turned into a drive gear so i put it into a shop and had another used transmission put in.and now a month later i have having the same issue reverse seems like its in park and neutral is in drive.someone please help me i spend 900 get work done to the transmision and now its doing the same thing.i hope someone out there knows transmissions and can tell me what the problem is.because i am really tired of sinking money into the car and in the end having the same issue.

Sounds like a shifter linkage or valve body issue. Call 2-3 auto trains shop and talk to them about it. If I paid 900 for a repair I would go back to the shop that did the work and talk to them too. I know a few shops down here is savannah

sounds like a linkage issue if the gears are "one off"? Does park still lock the wheels?

I've heard that a bad ecu can cause all kinds of problems. I'm not sure if it could interfere with the transmission though. Hopefully more knowledgeable people can help and confirm/deny that.
