I did searched a bit, and among almost universally bad reviews of inline signal boosters, found this:

The window mount antenna mentioned toward the end sounds worth considering if the stubby doesn't get the job done.

BTW, I compared the SC mount to a photo of the S2000 antenna, and like the MDX mount, the Honda's is the wrong angle. That's why they end up looking clunky on the SC.

I got the 7" antennaX installed today. It made it to town Saturday but apparently not early enough to go out for delivery, so I had to pretend to be patient until after the long weekend.

The aesthetics are what I hoped for, and the reception is what I expected. That size blends in nicely with the SC's lines, and the whip-style (as opposed to the typical stubby style) sort of disappears visually. Reception is marginally weaker than the powered mast, but the claim of "strong stations being unchanged and weak stations being worse" seems pretty accurate. It's definitely a lot better than just the mount with no mast.

I looked at the '90s Celica setup today. It's similar to the Hyundai/Kia ones (came in fixed and powered variations), but the slope of the mount doesn't look like a good match. The antenna would be at an ugly angle.
