Well this is it. I wasn't even looking to sell the SC but I had been talking back and forth with the previous owner (tkafam1) and consulting on what to look for while buying an SC and I jokingly mentioned to make an offer. Long story short, we agreed on some terms and I signed it over on Wednesday. The ONLY reason I'm letting her go is because he had her first and will be in good hands again.

For the rest of you, best of luck on your SC endeavors and I hope you all stay in the game for the right reasons. Drive it and enjoy it for what it is. You don't drive a Ford Focus or a Grand Am for a reason.

Thanks for everyone's help over the years! The candor and respect this forum has offered is far superior than any other forum I have been a member.

damn, that brought tears to my eyes Kris. Thank you for taking good care of her and for letting me have her back. You guys should know that he fixed/upgraded a ton of things on this beauty and she drives better than it when I first bought her. A little trivia, I bought her on June 11, 2004 and was watching the telecast of Ronald Reagan's funeral when she arrived at the hotel. I put 120k miles on her over the next 10 or so years. I sold her to Kris and regretted doing that immediately! I bought her back Wednesday, That was 5 days after Nancy Reagan's funeral. He redid/upgraded pretty much everything and did awesome work! I plan to get new wheels and seats, work on the body some, maybe repaint, and then when I get the cash, go NA-T. We'll see. 229k miles on her now and she drives like a ****ing dream.

Thanks again Kris, it means a lot that you wanted me to have her back.

Ha Ha cool story, good luck with your plans for her. I know you will think twice before ever giving a thought to sell it.
I did the same a few years ago and sold my pristine 94 SC300 to a co worker and regretted it immediately. I ask him to let me buy it back and he just laughs at me. He is a cool guy and takes good care of her. He even give me a ride it from time to time to tease me. So I bought a 96 SC300 turbo it and made it even nicer than his to make him jealous lol. We are still good buddies.
Kris, good luck to you, however I feel you will be back in an SC soon. You contributed so much to this forum and I want to say thank you for sharing your knowledge to make the SC community better.

 

Kris, we'll miss you here and you've added so much to the CL SC community. It sounds like you made a decision you're happy with and that sounds like a good thing. Selling the car back to the original owner who was looking for another one... that's just amazing! It rarely happens or is even possible.

If you ever decide to pick up another SC I'll be happy to see you around again. Thank you for all you've put in and shared with us. Good luck, have fun and safe travels, sir!

 

Wish I could sell my car back to it's original owner. I'd include a note in the center console that said thanks for never doing any maintenance, and leaving me with the biggest headache of all time.
