Im getting my daizen bushings done on monday...ill let you know how it goes....i have the sway bar ones also..they have been sitting around for about a week now... im gonna see how everything works out....and report back...from what i hear "lexsc400" everything is true thats why i got the swaybar and the control arm all together...i hear the sway bar makes a bigger difference than the control arm...im keeping my oem control arm and just changing the bushings...but they do sell the upgrade control arm also...
I got my sways (front and rear), upper and lower bushing (front only) replaced. They work pretty good but each time I go over a speed bump I hear a squish sound from the front. I'm not sure what it is. Anyone have any clues?
If you got Daizen bushings, they should not squeak unless they are years old and need lubrication. Possibly chassis bushings? Possibly worn shocks? How hard are you running over these speed bumps and how big are they?
I removed these bushings on my sway bars because they squeked, even after lube. It was driving me nuts, and lubing them every month is not an option for me. This fixed all my noise problems. Daizen really needs to re-think this product, as it may be superior in performance, but the squeking reminds me of my 65 Impala A-frame bushings when they were shot.
FYI,
I had both the Daizen lower control arm and front and rear sway bars poly bushings. No problems with the control arm bushings, only the sway bar bushings.
Damn, those sway bars are STILL backordered??? I think that's the BEST product Daizen makes for our car. Can't wait for them to come in!
928owner, you post was beginning to worry me until you noted that it was only the sway bushings doing the squeaking. When did you have them installed? Where? And how long ago? Just prepping myself.
They were installed late last year. Maybe they solved the problem, but check with Todd, as he keeps a close eye on these things. I just don't have the time to mess with them anymore.
ok im having difficulties driving with the new daizen bushings on uneven pavement...the car sways hard to one side...or the other...it also kicks to a side when i go over rough roads...this is only in the front...i got the swaybar bushings replaced and the control arm bushings also done..this only happens when i am on uneven pavement or a highway with a worn grove in a certain lane....any ideas?
I ordered the Todds bushings a few weeks ago. I also ordered the Eibach springs. Keeping in mind that I have access to a lift and all of the proper tools I was able to get the bushings installed with my friend helping me. I have done quite a bit of work on cars, mainly hondas, but the suspension setups on the front at least are similar. While I did the springs I went ahead and did the bushings at the same time. The worst part about the install was melting the rubber bushings. The rest was just pretty simple. Although without the use of a lift it would be pretty difficult to do this job on jackstands. Also the control arms in the front are a tight fit with the new bushings and were pretty hard to get back in. But with a lot of lube and some muscle they pop right in. I was not too worried about the allignment cause I was doing springs anyways, so I followed the directions and marked the bolts and that was fine until I got the car alligned. Copule of weird things were the super long bolt that holds the upper control arm. It was awkward to work with, and the super high torque specs for the lower and upper control arm bolts. Total job took about 6 hours to do the front upper and lower bushings and the springs. All in all I am very happy with the results and have not heard a squeak yet from the bushings. Make sure you use a lot of lube (we like to call it gorilla snot.) man that stuff is hard to get off you hands. But there is more than enough supplied with the kit. No more clunking noise of the control arms shifting when I back up and hit the brakes. And I should see a difference in tire wear under braking. All around more stable. It would be hard for me to pay 600-800 to have it done but without the proper tools no way around it. Thanks for the prompt service Todd.
