Default shift lock release button cover for a 1999 sc400

Does anyone know if any other Lexus models shift lock release button cover will fit the 1998-2000 sc400? Or maybe a cross reference to a Toyota model. Has anyone made one, and if so can you give details on how you did it? There's just something wrong to me, paying $18-$25 bucks for a piece of plastic that's the size of this woot: woot:

Oh I would love to know this too, my 98 is missing the shift lock plastic as well and just looking at that hole annoys me.

I know that the GS400 & LS400 has the same transmission as ours, so you can try looking for a shift lock for them.

The part number does not cross over to any other Lexus model. Only 1998-2000 SC300 & SC400

Sounds like a good 3D printing project.

The part # is 33554-24020 for the shift button cover for 1998-2000 sc. I don't know how the 3D printing process works, but I'm interested if that is a solution.

Can someone explain the 3D Printing process? Would that duplicate the part?

Someone needs to create a 3D model of it first, then yes, it duplicates the part when printed.

Is duplicating this part after the 3D model is created a costly project?

Shouldn't be expensive at all if you already have a 3d printer. It will definitely will be much cheaper than the OEM $17.

Well if someone has one that's extra I have all the sc400 badges. They are in various colors and are not at all perfect, but I am willing to trade for one. Or if someone has one would you be willing to sell it?

Update: I was able to find the shift lock release button cover for the 1998 thru 2000 sc for $1.78. However shipping cost is $8.06. I found it on the internet from a company called Toyota Parts Center, if anyone is interested. I ordered it yesterday (3-24-16) and have not gotten an eta yet. When I receive it I will let anyone that's interested know how long shipping took, and if it is in fact part no. 33554-24020.
