Get new sc300 trunk?
Personally I think the SC looks a bit bald without the spoiler, but this is supposedly a free country, so each to their own. The best way to fill in factory holes is to weld them shut as any thing else will eventually crack out around the hole. Even old paint can be matched, you just have to know what your doing. Carbon fiber lids run some where in the 5 to 6 hundred range, but in my searches for parts I have seen many non-spoiler & spoiler lids for quite reasonable prices. Do to forum rules tho I can't tell you where, except to check with Aliga. Good Luck!
I'm generally in agreement. I find it amusing that people basically want whatever option the car didn't come with. Spoiler-less cars, people want spoilers. Spoilered cars, people want wingless trunks. The grass is always greener...
Very true, my 92 was wingless and wanted the 95 style, I have a '97 now and still want a '95.
Yeah, and wasn't the drag coefficient actually lower with the spoiler, even?

Yes, and the weight of it is like half what was said earlier in the thread.
Do to the fact that I'm a Professional body man, (just one of the many hats I've worn) I could do up the lid for a couple hundred bucks. (can't charge myself labor)
If someone came to me wanting to do this, I would recommend just buying a non-spoiler lid & if it can't be found in same color, then paint it to match. That being said, carbon fiber is a wonderful material that is so much better than fiberglass & extremely light. ( Fiberglass can weigh more than steel), so if I've done my math correct for about 8 hundred you could probably have carbon fiber lid with paint, & a weight reduction to boot. Shop rates vary per area.

When I had a CF trunk with CF wing it was with old struts and it opened and closed just like the stock trunk. With new trunk struts I'm sure it'll fly up.
Favorite all time spoiler 69 Dodge Daytona Charger. If I could have one of those on my SC, Id put it back on.
That's what I am doing!
I have been considering CF trunk and hood but just for the look. I don't care about the weight and don't want the CF hassles (leaky trunk, hood latch) or cost.
Also, it is removable.
This idea is PERFECT for me.
Thanks Shane!
