Default TPS install issue. Need advice ASAP

This is for a 92 SC400. Installed a new throttle position sensor to get rid of the choppiness and rough idling issues. Car idles smooth in park but on test driving, WILL NOT SHIFT INTO SECOND GEAR. Revs to the moon in PARK also, btw. I am attempting to make adjustments now. Thanks in advance guys

Use the guide, you need a voltmeter and feeler gauge, I do it by ear and feel sometimes but this is the correct way.

Thanks for the quick reply SCFactory. I bought a new (but generic) TPS from a brand called INTERMOTOR. What I found was that the new generic TPS had its grooves/catches set practically 180 degrees OPPOSITE if the OEM TPS. So I would have had to set it upside down to make it work. So in other words, It wouldn't work. Gonna just not cheap out next time and get an OE unit new so I have to fiddle with throttle cable adjustment as possible.

The big problem was that the cr would not rev past 1500 RPM with the new TPS....BUT would rev buttery smooth.

Cleaned the old TPS with some compressed air and put it back in.

No problem, gotcha that's really weird they would sell a TPS backwards haha. If the old one works then I wouldn't mess with it, I have some used ones for sale if you're still having issues with yours though.
