Default steering wheel column question

I have a 92 sc3 with a tan steering wheel column and have changed my full interior to black. I wanted to know if anyone knows that a black steering wheel column from a 95 or whatever year makes the column in black would fit on my 92 to replace the tan color to black. TAI

Nice.... Sorry I don't have an answer for your question but I would love to see photos of your tan to black conversion - I pondered this but thought it would be too much trouble. Thanks...

Use interior color by SEM. That is the only way to go and it wont flake or peel off. You have to get the paint from auto paint supply places. It is about 10 bucks a can, but you for sure get what you pay for. It is a factory finish.

one of the best paints i have used is Marhyde interior paints. they make a black satin that is second to none in finish (watch the fumes, they'll leave you strung out for days). they also have vinyl interior paints and plastic paints as well. I used a total of 22 cans inside and outside of my porsche during it's restore and 3 years later not a bit of degrading to the finish. looks excellent and very recommended.

Could you post a few of you pics?? Do you have some before and after ? if not could you get a few pics of the major pieces you did, like you dash and anything else Also If I was looking to change my tan to black on my 300, what would I do about the doors and such, the carpet and the head area, I would really like to change it to black but don't want to spend a arm and a leg

To VeilSideGS3 : Could you give a quick summery on how you went about getting yours to where it is ??

And anyone else would has input please let me know

Thanx again all
Shawn

VeilsideGS3 - Hey Bro, the '95~'97 (basically pre-'98 3-spoke wheel) should fit just fine. It's not hard to put on and take off...

Hey, why not do a 3-spoke 2001 GS/RX conversion instead? I will trade you a TAN wheel for a Black one...but must be a 2001+ GS430 or RX300 wheel...

OH, I thought you were talking about the back plastic piece that's attached to the steering wheel (you can bearly see it in my photo...), I knew you weren't talking about the steering wheel itself

...the column cover should be compatible...I don't see why it wouldn't be...check out junkyards, I'm sure you can find one....

Did you convert your wheel or did you just leave the stock 4-spoke wheel?

VeilSideGS3 and anyone else that did a tan-to-black conversion: How much did the full conversion cost? Specifically the cost of carpet, seats, & leather and vinyl trim pieces.

Manaray, do you have any other spare steering wheels for sale? I might pick one up next week while in LA.

LISTEN TO ALIGA.....GET INTERIOR PAINT AND PAINT IT. it won't look bad at all..or you can go a 2nd route. there are companies that sell plain black sticker sheets..these sheets go on anything just like tint(just as hard as tinting also) and when it's done it won't look painted it will look factory...trust me i'm posting pics of my carbon fiber side panels and you can't tell the difference from mine and from the real ones
