No, I didn't tune it myself. To be honest, I wouldn't know where to start. I installed it and my dyno guy tuned it.

I suggest to get the SAFC2 if you get it though as it gives you more values to work with.

My guy tuned it and I did about 5 runs for $100. It was well worth it for me, as, like you, was not wanting to damage my engine.

You may have to pay a little more as I have heard the price I got was very reasonable. Well worth it though - when I was driving home that night afterwards it was like having a new car

You will love it

Default Quick help!!!!

I'm installing this right now....I'm a bit confused. I've got the manual from Apex'i and everything I'm just not sure which wiring diagram to follow. There's the one for our cars (1UZFE up to '93) but VSsc400 says to use 7 wires. That diagram only says to use 6(not using pink. Diagram T7-a) am I supposed to use the diagram meant for the Karmon(sp? I'm in a hurry LOL) using the Air Flow in, Air Flow out diagram? Please help me! This is the first time installing this into a Lexus(done one before in a Honda but it seemed a lot easier with help!)

P.S.- Sorry to bump an old thread but I've been using this, and the install thread as my guide!

*EDIT* - Okay FINAL edit this time...I'm hooking everything up using the 7 wire diagram but what do I use for the A/F in, A/F out?! On the diagram for our cars it only shows one A/F connection point. What should I do?!

I just installed mine and I accidentally used the white and yellow wire. Now I think my MAF is fried! (I hope that's the only damage). For future reference, use the orange and pink wires for AF signal!

There might be a small difference with the intake, but the "chip"? I would take that chip off before installing and tuning the air fuel controller.

If you do go that route, be aware that your specific car uses a hotwire type maf sensor.

the apexi neo combines the vafc with the safc as one unit.

either use one or
both vvti, vtec, mivec etc same **** different name. but ferrari is different

i have a safcII installed on mine.

the safcII is good when installing bigger injectors (% the fuel leaner)
correcting the fuel curve when installing performance parts
leaning the afr to 12.5 under "wot"
