So last week, my battery light came on. I checked the battery [it's a new battery] with a multimeter with the car on and it showed 12v so I was pretty much running on battery. I took my alternator out and took it to AutoZone to get tested and it passed. I replaced the 120a fuse and the light didn't come on for a day. Multimeter read 14+ volts until today.
Now when I leave the car off for a few hours and turn it on, the battery light stays off. Once I turn it off and turn it on again, the light comes on and the multimeter reads 12v.
Should I just replace the alternator even if it tests good? Some friends are telling me it could be a bad ground, a short, the connector for the alternator cause it looks like some oil leaked on it.
I read some other threads here about this and didn't really find a solution...
