Got an engine.
It came. 1JZ-GTE non-VVTi rear sump, off of a Soarer 2.5GT.
It's now sitting at a friends' shop for the next 3 months. The only thing is..I've just learned I'm going to be moving out shortly (lots of costs associated with this). So I could either sell it in that time and break even or make a profit....Or I could just go through with the swap.
The swap would be... (and to anyone knowledgable about this, please chime in)
I'm pretty torn. I could probably afford it just fine after saving up a bit, but whether I should is another question.
My old engine and transmission could probably be sold for another $300-400 at least, which would make up a decent chunk of the cost.

- New gaskets wherever possible (other than HG unless a compression test says otherwise)
- New water pump (i've heard these fail a lot)
- New plugs/coils
- Cleaning of the entire thing
- Various new sensors for their inevitable failure
- The addition of 18" to the wiring harness
- An intercooler and some piping/couplers

really depends on your finances/time.
if my finances were in order, id install the motor.
sell the car for more money & you might make a bit more money with the fact its installed in working order.
you might end up making more money that way then outright selling the motor by itself.
if you really dont have the time. then i would just sell the motor, cut your losses or gain some profit by doing so.
good luck!
