Question Power Antenna & Trunk CD Player

Is the Power Antenna the same for all of the SC's for all of the years?
Are they the same from 1991 to 2000?

What about the CD Changer in the trunk, did that unit change at all?

My antenna is getting power, but the motor does not run, and I am getting occasional ERR messages when I try to play CD's.

I called a parts recycle and he said each years antenna was unique, but when I look at new ones on Lexus Dealers website, they list the same part number for all years.

is it a new to you car as in you bought it recently with this problem, or it was working then you had the issue and it no longer works.
I know personally I have disconnected my power antenna and leave it in the closed position.
radio still works and it never goes up and down, I prefer it that way its so ugly and tall and then have to remember in car wash and eventually they all break the plastic mast inside breaks then the motor can't push it up or down anymore, no thanks I disconnect them while they are still working and call it an upgrade.

err message on cd's is pretty normal, don't think they are related. try a CD cleaner that can help sometimes.

chek if the power antenna is plugged in still. its possible the motor could have burnt out, but thats not a bad thing I disconnect it on every single toyota lexus vehicle that has one. luckily they stopped putting the power antenna on newer models they got the idea over time, but they still put that silly tape deck in there for no reason.

You can buy those little shorty s2000 antennas on ebay for very reasonable, i personally think they give it a nice modern look. But my antenna is stuck in the down position and i never have an issue with reception, i guess i also live pretty close to the city which helps. From what i hear the newer models cd changer skip a lot less, i havent any first hand experience with that though. My 95 skips over every bump in the road
