Default NEED HELP! NEW MEMBER! sc400 owner

hello, im new to the forums and just became active on 6.20.15.

I am an owner of a 92 lexus sc400 1uzfe

i would like to explain what has been done with my vehicle

1). sparkplugs/wires
2). oil change
3). fuel filter
4). cleaned throttle body/Idle air controll valve
5). Disconnected traction controll ECU because previous owner messed up button next to shifter, and could NOT deal with traction controll dropping my rpm because of the tiniest bump in the road when im accelerating
6). Drilled rotors
7). *** hole who owned the vehicle before me snipped ABS (dont need it anyways)
8). 5% tints all around (previous owner)
9). Black Plasti dip paintjob
10). 2piece TSW 18' wheels
11). Straigh pipe with mufflers (yes you lose major backpressure/torque)
12). powersteering fluid change
13) all brand new fuses
14). new mufflers 2.5 inlet 4' (basic mufflers nothing for back pressure/performance

To start, i purchased the vehicle with 226k miles on her.

she ran beautifully BUT i knew i had to do a tune up when OUT OF NOWHERE major problems hit me like a train.

Car would not start and only had 6 cylinders running.. engine would misfire/backfire/putter/shake/ and idle speeds were all over, low rpm was not where it sould be and inconsistant throttle response

to start off, spark plugs had been changed and wires, solved a lot of problems, but not all

BUT i had to tap the gas to start my car

okay, so its a fuel problem not air, where to start? go to fuel filter, there wasnt enough fuel pushing to the motor so, i had to gas it to start her up, swapped out fuel filter, solved problem immediately. Now she starts and drives proper.

NOTE: my fuel economy before doing my spark plugs/wires/fuel filter was dropping like no other, and struggling to turn on, so rifgt away i though ignition coils, but why was it firing my engine up when i tapped the gas.. as i said before my fuel filter was so shot that it did not function anywhere near it should.

no vaccume hoses were lose, and MAF is functioning as it should and im putting a new intake on her soon, was thinking about new throttle body, but for the money i might as well buy a new one bone stock and start the project correctly, and have the money for high performance upgrades/maintanance

There are other things im doing to bring her back to normal since the previous owner did next to nothing besides deface the car and sold it because he though parts would be cheap for a 92 toyota/lexus, which left me to fix what he didnt maintain.

My act blows out air thats not cold, its an r12 and need to get a conversion done, i have plenty mechanics tell me they can help but i hear many sc400 owners try and fail sayin (spend the extra money at toyota/ac shop and have it done properly and have a little more security since theycare specialists

my passager seat motor is defective and need a new one

tilt steering moror goes in and out, not up and down, i have read that at garden hose washer will do the trick and this is a common problem

i want to know what else i should look/watch out for around 227k miles..

spark plugs/wires
oil change
fuel filter
air filter
powersteering flush out

all done 100 miles ago

i want to know from a previous sc owner or current, is 227k a concerning mileage ammount, now i know all owners treat their car different and there are many factors to add that can make 227k not a problem or 227k and STAY AWAY.

lexus dealership in my area is not a good facility and many individuals do not speak highly of it what so ever due to MANY reasons.

i hear Sc's with 250k driving like 150.. and mine is like that also!! but for how long untill the next problem errupts.. 1992 vehicle with multiple owners, car is older than me! so there are definetly going to be a few things over time.

BTW: i straigh piped due to the previous owner installing the switch to open headers to have a loud exhaust at the light .. but the idiot welded the piece in backwards, and the metal disc flap dislodged and was rattling like a honda with metal in the muffler ratteling from underneath my car. Needed an immediate cost effective fix so we straigh piped it.. before i ever buy an exhaust id buy a new sc with under 100k as a project car and build it up while i have a daily driver to get me around..

is there anyway to regain torque loss/ back pressure from the straight pipes... now this question can be sent to another forum, but i did not want to do this for sound, i need a cost effective solution for the idiot welding the **** backwards and rattling constantly.. should i just get high flowing catts what can i do for torque/backpressure loss, i sometimes like to play and have wheel spin but no backpressure is killing me, yes i know if i cut cost i cut performance.. like i said, it was an immediate fix that need to be done for the most cost effective way

this might have been pretty scattered out but please dont mind me, this is my first post, very excited and eager to hear back from people, as i always am on here reading post from years ago trying to diagnose my vehicle, and i would definetly like a positive support system with my sc400, as people look at me as a money pit for labor/parts.. hence why ive been doing my homework .. 500$ for spark plugs being done at lexus.. enough said.

but id love to hear back from people please, and thank you to those who took the time to read my post

your responses migh have to be sectioned off

Maybe you want to give this a shot in the SC subforum.

Search the forum a lot more and you'll find all the answers, but in short....

The gear in the telescoping steering wheel is probably not on correct, it's a simple fix and there's a detailed thread with pictures.

Do the 12v Fuel mod. Search again...

Your seat motor....might be disconnected, who knows. Gotta investigate further.

1UZ at 227K is nothing. Keep it maintained properly you can hit 600K.

I have no idea how much torque you've lost by straight piping it...

Read the D.I.Y. section it has a lot of info on how to fix a lot of problems, like your seats. here's something that might help.
