Default fuel injection wiring

I'm going to change out my valve c8ver gaskets on my 400. The instructions on Lextreme is for a LS400 and shows the the wiring is held on by 2 10m bolts. My wiring seems to be clipped on. I can't figure out how to unclip it. Since the plastic is 22 years old I'm trying not to break it apart. Any suggestions?

common sense? effort? sorry, but it really can't be that difficult, I have a friend that had no mechanical experience at all recently do this and although I was there to over see to make sure he didn't **** up, the only part I even had to point out was to scrape all the old sealant off the places that use sealant. The person in question is a teenager that grew up with no father and his mother is no mechanic, sooooo......

most plastic clips that hold a piece like that have some spots that squeeze together making them able to push through the metal retainer. Use your eyes and common sense, and if that doesn't work, get your check book out because you shouldn't be doing this.

pay attention to places where silicone was, and make sure you get it all off and use new.

Well Vrank I did pay attention. There is a simple clip on the front portion but no such clip on the back portion. Some sort of clip/ fastner which is hidden underneath is holding it steady. Before I dig in to deep I thought I would check on the forum and make sure there wasn't some trick. Really didn't expect a sermon on fatherless children.

Vrank, that was a bit harsh. Most of us have dug deep into car projects and encountered a fork in the road where we could either forge ahead and risk breaking things in frustration, or step back, take a deep breath, and either do more research or ask people with experience.

FWIW, when I changed my fuel injectors a few months back, all eight injector clips broke as soon as I pressed down on the tabs. I can certainly appreciate Bankswood wanting to avoid breaking that brittle old plastic if at all possible.

t2d2 thanks for the comments. I'm an old guy who's been tinkering with cars for many years. I went back and took another look at the injectors carrier. Damn! That second clip was right there in front of me. I have no idea why I didn't see it before. Anyway, decided to get on with the gasket replacement. painted the cover and am waiting for the cover to dry. Also replaced the rear cam seal. Pic when I'm done.
