Reset the ECU and see if it comes back.

Maybe your aftermarket light kit has LEDs? LEDs use far less wattage and the car notices that and thinks the bulbs are out. To fix that, you need to solder in a load resistor in parallel to each LED series.

Best solution is to stick the oem set back on there with the proper bulbs. It'll look better too as I have yet to see an aftermarket set that actually look good.

THANK YOU
THANK YOU
THANK YOU!!

I purchased my '99 SC400 in February. The previous owner had put in LED headlights as well as LED taillights. I took out the LED headlights as they were causing issues. I left the LED tails but hated the orange dummy light on the dash.

Followed the instructions and am now free of it. The only thing I'd suggest: The harness is very hard to see and tucked away behind the trunk wall.

Once I pulled it through, I was unable to push the pin back, so I simply cut the wire and put a wire nut on it.

I now have no more dash idiot light.
