Default ECM interchange?

I have a 94 model M/T SC300 and recently had the ecm rebuilt. Well a few months later it has all the signs of a bad ecm again. I currently have a 89661-24322 but im curious if it is possible to run a 95 model ecm (unless it is obd2). The 95 model ECM's are easy to find (California emissions) compared to the 94 model ecm. After looking inside the capacitors are all in good condition but they could have likely used some cheap parts in it which didnt last very long. An engine swap is a year or more away so i hate to watch it sit that long before i can drive it again. Any help would be great.

you should be able to use a 95 on an 94 especially if they are both California. they are both obd1 California ecu's.
96 was the start of obd2.
