Default 93 sc300

New to the site I'm gonna be looking at a 93 in a couple days all I know it "it runs n drives" 133k auto, needs tires, exhaust leak n needs insp. I'm not worried about it I'm a mechanic. I think he said it's a 1jz but I'm not sure. But always liked the car but I love the engines. He wants anywhere from 1500-2000 n just seeing if that's worth it or not. It would definitely be a project car n it seems pretty cheap. Any help would do thanks

if it has a 1jz swap why did he put an auto on it again? make sure its a 1jz for sure, and where did he get the 1jz from. miles could be way off on the engine who knows how many miles it has run. SCs didn't come with 1jz's in the states just letting you know.

sometimes those very low priced ones are not as worth it, even though you are a mechanic the cost in parts to get it up to speed might cost the same as buying one for 3k in better condition. hopefully its not as bad as it sounds and can be restored, good luck and let us know how it goes!

Wow it even has the 2jz lol. Can't believe people are still using that as a selling point.

Just got done looking at the car it's black paint still looks good it was dark out but outside n inside were not to bad at all the some of the dash lights were out. Seats were in good condition. But the motor sounded good besides the exhaust leak at the manifold I believe. I'm getting it towed to my shop tomorrow so I can get a look underneath of it. But not as bad as I thought it was gonna be

if it runs fine and no problems, then 1300 and you're golden lol. rev it up, make sure it doesn't hesitate at any RPMs and no blue smoke from the exhaust

I say with those miles, a clear title and it runs, you've got yourself a starter car. Being a mechanic yourself, go ahead and replace seals, gaskets, change all the fluids etc.. As you know, getting your own hands on every part of that car will build confidence in what's in good shape while bringing light to what needs attention. Good find man.
