Default New SC400

After my last SC was totalled I've been looking for a newer one. I just bought a 95 SC400. Great car and got it for a good price. Everything except the antennae mast. I can fix that myself.

Nice SC you got there! I was looking for a Soarer in the same colour here in Australia, but 94/95 2.5GT's are still a tad bit expensive over here...

Maybe it's worth fitting the 94/95 parts to a 93 model?

Nice find! If you don't mind telling, how much did you get it for and with how many miles?

It has about 90k miles. It's been beautifully maintained. All the records from the local Lexus dealership are up to date. Oil changed every 3k miles. There are a couple of tears in the leather on the driver seat and on the back seat. No big deal though cause i was planning on getting the new leather from leatherseats.com anyway. I picked it up for $13k. I thought it was a little high but the amount of care and maintenance that went into the vehicle I thought made it worth it.

Default Q

Quick question. The last time I was around Area 51 was working on a supercharger for the SC400. Did that fall apart like the rest of the deals for our rides or did they actually complete one?

$13K doesn't sound too bad...if the tears in the leather seats are the biggest concern, I'd say you did alright! Are you planning on fixing it up? (I assume you are considering your question about A51! )

The only other car that tempted me was the Infiniti G35 coupe. That's just about it. Everything was a toss up. I loved the styling on both and the fact that both will run forever. The G35 does have more power and a 6 speed. But I was able to buy the SC400 for cash so I figured I'd be able to do alot more with it. I hate payments. If hadn't have found this car I might have gone with the G35 but I was in the right place at the right time. The ripped leather is a concern but all I need to fix it is about $750 for the new leather and a free afternoon to put it on. If I

Yes, I love the color. I was about to buy one here in Austin, TX with 131K miles, same year and same color combo. The paint was almost flawless and the intererior was in pretty good condition. We agreed on $9K even, but then the owner wouldn't let me take it ANY mechanics for an inspection. His reason was that he didn't want anyone else getting inside his car and not put it back together correctly. I walked away and bought a black '96 SC400 w/107K miles for $11K.

From what I heard area 51 is going out of business, and are not working on the supercharger anymore. I don’t know this for a fact, its just what a friend told me, he said that’s the reason they sold/ are selling their drag SC. if i'm wrong let me know
