Pilot Bearing Question
Hello Club Lexus,
I'm changing the clutch on my new to me 1992 SC300. Everything was going great thanks to the guides on this forum. I got a tool to remove the pilot bearing and it popped out no problem. I was checking out the crankshaft and noticed that whoever did the clutch the last time absolutely beat the crap out of the crank. The surface where the bearing is pressed into has some pretty decent scarring. I can feel it when I rub my finger against it. I've put up some pictures of it. I guess I want to know if I should try to do anything, like sand it down, or if I should just put the new bearing in.

Well I decided to try to smooth it out a little bit with some 500 grit. After that i installed the new pilot bearing. The new bearing does not turn very smoothly. It will turn easily and then hit a difficult part. Will this cause a problem?
