Default Odd Issue With Stock Radio

Wondering if anyone can lend me a hand or an idea as to what my issue might be.

My stock radio in my SC300 works fine. However, If I put one of those cassettes with the aux cords in it to listen to music off of my phone, only the passenger side speakers work.

This isn't consistent though. Just last week, all the speakers worked as normal with cassette in. Now this morning, back to working 100% with radio only and 50% with cassette in.

What should I be looking at first?

Thanks for any input.

Shane

I would assume it's the cassette adapter your using. They have left and right side wiring. They are pretty cheap and break a lot. I had the same problem back when I used one. Went through 3 of them before I decided to put in my aftermarket head unit.

First ? Are the stock speakers still in the vehicle, if yes I would say the speakers are disintegrating/blown. This occurred to my rear speakers they are cheaply made and the heat , from the sun caused the damage. Search rear speakers under my name and you'll see my DYI.

Go to post 4 to see DIY for removal of the rear speakers/quality of the stock speakers.

That happened to me. It was a cheap cassette adapter.
