Just got a 1996 SC300
Battery was dead so that was the first thing I addressed, also tank was on empty so I put a few gallons in and got it running, although it was rough idle and tranny was shifting rough.
List of stuff done so far;
-changed plugs
-trans flush+fill (runs much better overfilled?)
-oil change
-pulled out the instrument cluster and replaced several burnt out bulbs (which was super fun since my steering wheel motor was stuck in a non-down position

Its running really smooth right now and I happy with it but mileage isn't great....
So I was thinking I would get an EMS and tune it- going to go turbo ultimately with the cxracing kit http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchant...y_Code=ESSC300
doing this on a budget so my questions are:
What is the best EMS for the money?
How are everyone's experiences with the CX racing kits?
Thanks!
Steve

I've heard that the older ex mani's had clearance issues but the newer ones fit well...
As far as mileage, I don't see why they shouldn't be able to get high 20's city and mid 30's hwy with proper tuning. Since i wanted to go turbo an ems will be necessary down the road and this is why I was asking about best for the buck. I don't plan on more than 600whp on hi boost and 450ish on low hoping to do that without having to take the head off the motor.

I am surprised at the mileage given the luxury. I have the air on all day and with this level of comfort, I am surprised I am getting 18- 20 mpg. My 2006 Accord V6 with 244 hp only gave me about 20 mpg and the Ac never blew this cold and the ride was car wreck level. And the Lexus blows the Honda away in looks! 5 grand well spent. With better oil and stock spark plugs, I can't wait to do a "soft" tuneup of just the oil for starters or appetizers! and the then "hard tuneup" of spark plugs later on!!
