I bought a 1994 SC4 with 140k miles. When I left off the gas while driving I hear a slight droning noise from underneath but it goes away as soon as I give gas. There no vibrations or shaking just that slight drone. My guess is the diff maybe low on oil? Please share your thoughts. Appreciate it!

Dif will be ur problem a bazillion percent of the time with these symptoms. However sometimes it could be a bearing and you simply can't hear it when pressing on throttle. Also tires can make noises but once again it would be a constant sound.

Put you car in neutral on the highway, if the noise goes away it's most likely the pinion bearing.

Not terrible to do.

i thought it's very terrible to put auto cars in neutral when moving, especially at high speeds?
