Default Weird Issue with rear?

So i've noticed that when it rains my rear end gets pretty lose and doesn't feel safe at all....especially on certain parts of the road in my commute. I have changed tires and i have changed the struts and springs. It's weird because the first thing would be tires and those have been changed...

On a dry surface the car is fine.

Any ideas?

Alignment. I had the same problem when I bought my car. Rear was really squirrely especially in the rain and driving over painted stripes and stuff. Took it to alignment shop and guy was like "you DROVE this here"?

What type of tires? I had a set of ATR Sport tires and they were awful in the rain.

But an alignment is always a good place to start as well.

Same feeling on dry and wet for me. I'm getting an alignment next week and I predict I have had the monarch of awful alignments at the moment.

No alignment since....
-new coilovers
-new bushings
-new wheels
-new tires
-....before I bought the car, who knows.

I just never drive it so I waited until the bushings were done. But yes alignment is the unsettled feeling on these cars. Visually I have about -6 camber rear and at least 5 degrees of toe front...

You want to talk about noob, I burned up $700 worth of tires because of this. PO sold me car with bald tires on rear so I just got a nice set of the BFG KDW2s and about 3 months later I noticed they were bald. That's when I put it all together. PO threw coilovers on it and never got it aligned, didn't tell me it needed it and this was my first SC so i had no point of reference. Car was so pigeon toed I asked the tech after his comment and he replied "it was deadly deadly dangerous, you're lucky"

No problems with tires or feeling like its going to let go at any moment on even a damp road after that.

If this doesn't fix your issues, look at the bushings and bearing in the hub assemblies.

I got the alignment done on Thursday and it has not rained since so i can't really know if its fixed until it does so.

Car feels better but until it rains and i feel safe driving it. I will update.

My Lexus had set for awhile before I bought it. Tires were worn so bought a new set all around, took car to alignment shop. Front was right on , rear was way out, especially right side. someone had curbed that side hard. Everything was stuck, but thought we got it close enough. ended up eating rear tires in 15k. car would go around in circles on any slippery surface. took it back & second try worked. Things had loosened up. these cars are monsters if not aligned correctly. Good Luck!
